Know the bible

God forewarns us of those that do not value the Word of God in Romans 1:28-32, "Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."

Please, heed this warning!

God gave a way for each of us to get to know Him down through the centuries. It truly is genius! The apostles and the authors of the books of the Holy Bible were God's tools which were used to tangibly reach His children. As it says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Being a child of God your appetite for the Word of God should be healthy. 1 Peter 2:2, "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation."

Feed upon the Word everyday without fail. The more you eat, the faster you will grow. Be like Job in Job 23:12, "I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread."

If you commit yourself to spending some quiet time everyday you will grow in your relationship with the Lord and gain in wisdom and understanding. Read it or even listen to His Words a chapter or two or even five chapters a day instead of mindlessly plugging into the variety of mediums available today you will be consuming the very bread of heaven that will feed you for eternity. God is a relational God. Your attention and desire to be with Him matters to Him.

Just like the food we eat to sustain our physical bodies, there may be times of pure enjoyment and excitement for the Word of God, and other times it may be like eating the vegetables mom prepared for dinner when we were kids. It may be boring and dry at times where you have a desire to do something else, however the discipline of eating while you do not necessarily crave it, benefits us greatly over time. And it's those "vegetable" days that God often uses to fill us with His wisdom for a later time.

I cannot say it any better than God said it Himself;

From John 6:53-58, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever."

You are feeding your soul for a time when you will meet Christ and be in heaven forevermore. To eat the flesh of the Son of Man is to feed upon the bread of heaven i.e. the Holy Bible; and to drink His blood is to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. It's kind of like the saying you must drink the kool-aid which means you must BELIEVE...It's that simple!

Find a way to read or listen to God's Word everyday! Use our ministry as a resource to help further your growth and strengthen your faith every moment you can.

Put the time aside. Make it an appointment....MAKE THE TIME!
